West Marden is three-quarters of a mile south of Compton. It contains the Victoria Inn and an AA-recommended bed and breakfast establishment and is served by the No.54 bus service. There is a large farming community and a building firm.
The church and non-conformist chapel have been demolished, but some parts of the church were incorporated into Up Marden church.
West Marden has been connected with Compton for years and its residents support many activities based there.
Local government is covered by Compton Parish Council
