Our second talk in this year’s series will be on Tuesday July 19th and will be presented by Roy Fulker with the title of ‘A Sideways Glance at Modelling”. The modelling in question has nothing to do with catwalks, clay or railways but will look at the modelling of systems and its wide application in the modern world (think Covid, weather, climate, economic forecasting and multiple other models of the ‘real world’).
We’ll look at what a model is, ow we go about producing one and the presentation of the output. The talk will not be technical and will take a light-hearted approach to ow we might interpret what we the public are presented with by the media. Roy has an IT background and has written a number of economic models for real-world companies.
The hall will open at 7:10pm and the bar will be open for sales of beer, wine and soft drinks. Entrance will be £1 per person to assist with the costs of running the hall.
